In the second season of Marginalia Pod, we read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. We chose an overarching theme this time–compassion–and also chose a secondary theme to focus on each week.
It’s our last episode with Richard and co, and gosh, what a journey it’s been! We wrap up the final chapters through the theme of shame.
We are storming towards the end and things are getting wild! We unpack it all through the theme of heroism.
Betrayal! The Labyrinth! The Beast of London! It’s all kicking off in chapters 15 and 16!
Things get really dark in chapters 11 and 12! Richard, Door and Hunter encounter the Blackfrairs, and the Marquis is tortured by Croup and Vandemar.
We’re halfway and it’s all go in chapters 9 and 10! Richard and Door crash a fancy party, we meet the Angel Islington, and the Marquis tempts fate.
We take a chance on chapters 7 and 8, and Richard and Door take a chance on a lead. Hunter is not amused.
Our theme this week is impossibility – something Richard contemplates a lot as he finds Door and ventures further into London Below.
Richard finds himself invisible and we find ourselves asking. what even is reality, anyway…
It’s time to embark on a new adventure as we dive into the first two chapters of Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere.
