SEASON 3 EPISODE 9: MERCY

This week, we’re reading Chapters 56-62 through the theme of mercy. Up in the Citadel, Ruby and Sparrow have a conversation about love and wanting. They mend a few fences. In Weep, Lazlo & Sarai build dreams together and continue falling in love. Thyon interrupts to wake Lazlo up and accuse him of … something, but instead begins to open Lazlo’s mind to the possibility that he isn’t entirely human, as his Azoth reacts to Mesarthim (when no one else’s does). Exhausted, Thyon returns to his laboratory. Lazlo heads for an anchor, only to get there moments after Drave. The anchor begins to sink and threatens the city.

So during the recording of this episode, Marginalia Pod tech dude, support squad, and general friend to the project Simon was actually in the hospital after having sliced open his finger. It was super bloody and awful and he ended up having surgery to repair the tendon. Which is why you hear a lot more kid noises (and a wee little interruption!). We apologize for the rambunctiousness but we left it in because, well, it was kinda cute. We support working parents!
